Culture Inc. is a community center that provides activities, support and workshops for youth, families and community members. Our 4,000 sq. ft. facility houses art and recording studios, a dance and exercise room, Apple computer/Rosetta Stone lab and 2 tutoring rooms.
Our mission is to strengthen Iowa families through artistic expression, embracing cultural diversity and building of community.
We offer tailored, one-on-one arts education during the hours when youth are most likely to engage in destructive behaviors. Culture Inc. is not only a safe and nurturing place to be, but also provides dedicated resources to fostering skills in fine art, music, dance, beat production, creative writing and beyond.
Afterschool and summer programs focus on art and culture, we offer educational and family support programs to supplement the creative growth and outlet happening on a daily basis. Read more about our guiding principles and history on our About page.
The CommonWealth Project exists to serve and promote mental, spiritual and physical health and wealth. Our activities are designed to nurture life, in all its forms and help it to flourish in a safe and secure environment. An environment where everyone is free to live, love and be. We use positive energy to create activities that are an investment in the future and a launching pas for healing, trust, and peace. Our goal is to build a community where all members are free to listen, speak, and do those things that lead to joy, and freedom in our lives.
CommonWealth meets every Saturday @ 10:00am
Culture Inc. has been blessed with the presence of local artists who lend their talents through workshops, classes and mentoring. A special gift from one of them was the writing of a song that captures the essence of Culture Inc.
Colors of My Heart by Tina Haase-Findlay
“Paint a picture, do a tango, write a song
Make a masterpiece so beautiful and strong
This is more than decoration; it’s the story of my life
Full of magic and it’s mine, all mine…
…The creation of all I want to be
And all I want to do
No matter what happened before
I know that there is so much more
My life is a work of art
See the colors of my heart.”
